13 Days Kailash Pilgrimage Tour from Kathmandu

This tour features Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, the most sacred travel destinations in the world. It is for travelers who'd like to do the 3-day Mt. Kailash Kora and Lake Manasarovar worship from Kathmandu and go back to Nepal when tour ends. After one-day sightseeing in Kathmandu, take the car ride to Gyirong Port and stay overnight at Gyirong Town to acclimatize to the altitude change. Then you will traverse through the wide valley between Himalaya Range and Gandise Range via Saga to visit the holy Lake Manasarovar and Mt. Kailash. You can perform puja, meditation, and holy bath at the holy lake before the 3-day Mt. Kailash trekking. After the Kora, you will be escorted to your hotel in Kathmandu via Gyirong border and get airport drop-off service when tour ends.

Day1 Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m)

Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal! Upon your arrival, our local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to have a good rest at hotel. Meal plan (B/L/D)

Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day2 Kathmandu tour: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Jal Narayan

After breakfast, you will visit Pashupatinath, Jal Narayan and Guheshwari Temple. After lunch, prepare yourself for the Kailash Yatra/Kora. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Day3 Kathmandu to Gyirong (2900m) (175km)

In the morning, take the car ride to Rasuwa Gadi 170km away from Kathmandu. The ride takes about 7 hours due to the road condition. After passing the Immigration Office on Nepal and China side, you will meet your Tibetan guide and drive to Gyirong Town (3700m). Meal plan (B/L/D).

Day4 Rest day for acclimatization

Take a good rest at hotel or explore the town to acclimatize to the altitude change. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Day5 Gyirong to Dongba or Paryang

After breakfast, you will be escorted to Dongba (4500m) 250km away from Gyirong. On the way, you can enjoy the grand view of Mt. Shishapangma (8021m), Mt. Gauri Shankar (7134m), and other high mountains from Lablung La Pass (5050m). You can also admire the sacred Lake Peikutso. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Day6 Lake Manasarovar (4558m)

Today, continue your trip to Lake Manasarovar. It is an auspicious day because you will have the first glimpse of the sacred Lake Manasarovar and Mt. Kailash from Horchu Pass. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Stay overnight at Chhu Gompa.

Day7 Puja and drive to Darchen (4560m) (30km)

The abode of god will be a lifetime achievement. Puja, Havana worship, meditation, holy bath etc. In the afternoon, take the car ride to Darchen 30km away. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Day8 Trek Day One: Darchen to Diraphuk (5000m)

Diraphuk is about 18km away from Darchen. You will take the eco-bus from Darchen for 10km and pass by Tarboche, and then trek about 4-5 hours to Diraphuk (4890m).

Day9 Trek Day Two: Drirapuk to Zuthulphuk

It takes 8-10 hours to trek to Zuthulphuk (4790m) about 22km away. This is also the most challenging day of the yatra. You will pass by Parikarma, Dolmala Pass (5600m), and Gaurikunda before arriving at Zuthulphuk.

Day10 Trek Day Three: Dzutripuk to Dongba/Saga via Manasarovar Horchu

Today, you will trek 8km to the ending point of Mt. Kailash parikarma (circuit) and then take car ride to Darchen. After lunch, you will take the car ride to Dongba via Manasarovar Horchu.

Day11 Dongba/Saga to Gyirong

Take the car ride to Gyirong/Kerung. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Stay overnight in Gyirong.

Day12 Gyirong to Kathmandu (150km)

Today you will pass the Gyirong Port and arrive at your hotel in Katmandu. Meal plan (B/L/D).

Day13 Depart from Kathmandu

We will pick you up at hotel and drop you off at Kathmandu Airport. Meal plan (B). Service ends.
